Digital Media

Program Description:

Digital Media is an interdisciplinary area of study combining art, computer science, video, music, design and journalism/mass communications. Through the Center for Creativity, digital media specialists prepare for careers in creative fields that utilize a variety of specialized technologies.

 

This program allows students to specialize in one of five areas:

  • Adobe Master Design Specialist
  • Broadcast Production Specialist
  • Digital Media Specialist
  • Print and Online Reporting Specialist
  • Web Design Specialist

 

Entry Level Salary:

Salaries vary depending on the area of specialization.

 


Local Employment Outlook:

According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, the computer systems design,


digital broadcast production and online journalism and related services industry is expected to experience rapid growth through 2016. Educated professionals will enjoy the best job prospects, reflecting continuing demand for the high level skills needed to keep up with changes in technology and new media.

What it takes:

The Associate in Applied Science degree requires 65-68 credit hours. The Certificate of Achievement requires 35-37 credit hours.
