Payroll Administrator
Program Description:This program is designed to provide the student with the business skills required for employment as a payroll specialist and to introduce the student to the requirements for becoming a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP). The program is directed toward students who are preparing for employment in a small business as a full charge bookkeeper or accounting clerkand for those who are preparing for employment in the payroll department of a medium to large organization. This program is also directed toward students who have already received on-the-job training in the area of accounting for payroll, but would like to receive more formal instruction.

Local Employment Outlook:
Employment of payroll and timekeeping clerks is expected to grow about as fast as average for all occupations through 2014. In addition to job growth, numerous job openings will arise each year as payroll and timekeeping clerks leave the labor force or transfer to other occupations. Those who have completed a certification program, indicating that they can handle more complex payroll issues, will have an advantage in the job market.
